Saint Paul, Minnesota is the Capital of Minnesota. It's the city where Kirsten's father spent his high school years and her aunts and uncles grew up in. Kirsten's grandmother still lives in the house where she raised that family, walking distance to the Mississippi River.

Kellogg Mall Park (0.1 Miles from Hyatt Place) - A 4.2 acre park along the Mississippi River featuring fountains, an arbor, benches & tree-shaded lawns. Great for a morning walk before the wedding if the weather cooperates! Located directly behind the hotel.
Minnesota Museum of American Art (0.2 Miles from Hyatt Place) - The Minnesota Museum of American Art is an American art museum located in the Historic Pioneer Endicott Building. The museum holds more than 5,000 artworks that showcase the unique voice of American artists from the 19th century to the present. The M’s indoor gallery space is closed to the public. Current exhibitions are on view from outside the building, installed in the windows on Robert and 4th streets and in the Ecolab Entrance in the skyway. (Updated: 10/10/22)
Minnesota Children's Museum (0.6 Miles from Hyatt Place) - Permanent exhibits include a four-story climber with spiral slide, laser maze, car wash, ball launchers, maker space, pretend town and a gallery for toddlers and preschoolers. The museum is filled with kid-powered play spaces where families have fun together and kids take the lead. With three floors of fun interactive exhibits and programs, the museum provides open-ended, self-directed experiences that give kids the space and freedom to explore their interests, solve problems and build life skills like confidence, critical and creative thinking, communication and more. Cost = $14.95 for ages 1-101.
Landmark Center (0.6 Miles from Hyatt Place) - St. Paul's historic Landmark Center, completed in 1902, originally served as the United States Post Office, Courthouse, and Custom House for the state of Minnesota. The building hosts a Visitor Center and a number of smaller museums.
Science Museum of Minnesota (0.7 Miles from Hyatt Place) - A museum focused on topics in technology, natural history, physical science, and mathematics education. Houses 8.5 acres of exhibits and activities with boundless opportunities to explore and learn for all ages. Tickets $8.95-$19.95.
Minnesota State Capitol (1.2 Miles from Hyatt Place) - The seat of government for the U.S. state of Minnesota. It houses the Minnesota Senate, Minnesota House of Representatives, the office of the Attorney General and the office of the Governor. From its grand stairs to its historic legislative chambers to the public works of art surrounding the building, there's always something to see at the State Capitol. The building is considered an architectural masterpiece and holds a special place in Minnesota's history. Self guided tours are available. Suggested $5 donation.

METRO Light Rail
The Hyatt Place Downtown/St. Paul is located 2 blocks from the METRO Light Rail Union Depot Station. The Light Rail gives you access to not only St. Paul but also Minneapolis! Don't hesitate to take advantage of this public transportation option!
Please note: It is possible to travel between the airport and hotel via Light Rail, but does require going out of the way to switch trains in Minneapolis. As Brian & Kirsten live out of town, they can't speak to the efficiency of this route.
